Lets start with my mets. Went to a few games last week, watched them win, then watched them collapse against those Phillies on tv. Gotta give it to them, even though im sure they will make the post season, these last few games are really keeping the fans on edge. Especially today’s game. At least the Phillies lost too, the braves are good for something!

TV has been keeping me pretty busy lately, Prison Break, Weeds, Heroes. A lot of mediocre shows premiering last night, im still waiting for a show of west wing caliber to come out. Only show I am really anticipating this season is Battlestar Galactica, though many others keep me busy in the meantime.

Market time. The market went down down down for a few weeks and came right back up. I originally anticipated a bear market for at a few months at the minimum. From the looks of it, people have shrugged it off and are right back to the buying. It makes me feel nervous. The recent fed rate cut was a bad move. It is highly politically motivated to keep americans happy. It is nothing but a band-aid on a broken bone, also known as the credit crunch. With interest rates lowered, american dollars worth less and less, we will have a short economic growth with huge prices to pay in the years to come. Yes it will look good, even feel good for a while but we will pay for this short term high, in the form of higher interest rates in the future and the poor exchange rate.

Even China, our biggest creditor is starting to “diversify” it’s holdings. I mean diversify as dump treasury bonds in exchange for higher returning investments. If our biggest creditor is beginning to rethink it’s position, our current economic expansion could slow down. Alone, this is no big deal but if it spreads, along with the weakening demand for the dollar as middle eastern states move away from dollar based oil buying, we will see things change for the worse in the long term.

America is on top right now, but it does not look like we will be here for long. China is a big threat, militarily and economically. Things can change in a heartbeat.

As of now I am looking towards Ron Paul for the leadership of this country. I’ve read his economic essays, he is one of the few politicians running who knows what is right for this country long term. Have you seen Hillary talk about the economy? She has no idea what she is talking about, its almost scary to think someone like that has the ability to run for president. The woman is a JUNIOR SENATOR.
